Yeah, that’s because after waiting for over six hours for the help you’ve promised regarding those few lines my translator had trouble with and seeing you didn’t reply, but simply posted your own scanlation of the whole chapter, I had to hit the sack. It was 1.30 a.m., sorry.

Whoa.  I got a message from you asking for help, replied saying I’d be happy to assist then got no further response at all.  Tumblr ask boxes are notorious for eating messages so I assume that’s what happened here?  I didn’t get a single message from you or your translator beyond that initial ask, I was wondering what’d happened.

I’d started on my scanlations well before I got your message, I didn’t offer help then withhold it so I could release my own scans earlier just to spite you guys, if that’s what you’re implying?  Like I didn’t mention you guys so I could be all ‘hey look I was quicker,’ I mentioned you because I wanted people to be aware that there’s another group who’re doing a great job translating the series & that they should check you guys out?

I think… there’s been a horrible misunderstanding somewhere here…

Attention, guys, I need to clear things up here!

First, let me explain the situation that occured: 

The morning of the day the raws were released I was flooded with Hineko’s messages that the raws are out, she’s currently preparing the script and that she repacked and sent me the chapter for editing. Three hours later the scans were ready, but Hineko was still struggling with some lines (yay, cryptic Watanuki and Saiga). After two more hours of research on said lines, I decided to give in and asked Unknownusername for help, on which she kindly agreed. In my next message I sent her edited raws along with the script and translation, stating which lines are the problem. In the meantime I completed the rest of the scanlation, all there was to do was to paste in the eight missing lines.

So I waited. I waited for about six hours, since I sent my message after 6 p.m. and   last time I’ve checked was well after midnight. So imagine my surprise when I saw that person I asked for help posted her own scanlation not so long ago. She’s quite known in the fandom and I always considered her kind and affectionate person, so I felt really betrayed. It looked exactly as she described it: that she was trying to withhold our release. That being said, the problem of missing lines was still there, so I just went to sleep, since Hineko was away from the computer as well.

The next morning we worked some more on the translation, which, as we learned later, still wasn’t completely accurate (expect fixed version along with next rescanlated chapter). I wasn’t going to even mention what happened, but I saw Unknownusername’s latest post (the one I quoted) and that was it to me: I couldn’t help but make a snarky remark on the matter.

And for all that I’m really, truly sorry. It seems that tumblr lost 2 of 3 messages I sent her, causing all this misunderstanding. Unknownusername never even got the script. I feel really ashamed for what I’ve done - even more so that after all this, she’s still willing to help us in the future. I’m sorry for the confusion I caused for you all, I shouldn’t be so hasty with judging people’s behaviour.

I also would like to thank for all the extremely kind words we received in the last two days, we love you guys so much, it’s almost indecent.
